Stein for Schools
Accountable. Transparent. Approachable.
Hi! I'm Chris Stein, and I'm running for Beavercreek City Schools Board of Education to bring a fresh perspective to the board! There are many big changes coming to our schools in the next few years, and I want to be your voice throughout those changes. I have a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and I am a former teacher and instructional specialist. With my education and experience, I can help shape the vision of Beavercreek schools to ensure the success of our children.
Current Community Involvement
- Data analyst at Wright State University
- Beavercreek City Charter Review Commission
- Ohio River Road Runners Club volunteer
- Instructional systems specialist for the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA)
- Education specialist at NASA's Johnson Space Center
- Middle and high school science teacher
- Instructional technology specialist
Funding schools in Ohio is challenging (the funding system is unconstitutional) and asking the community for money is sometimes a necessity. Before asking for money, I would want to see that all appropriate cost-saving measures have been taken.
The Ohio Department of Education gave us an overall grade of a B, and a C for achievement. We know we are better than that! Although the state employs a flawed grading system, let's show everyone without a doubt we are an A district!
I want to hear from you! As an elected official, I would seek and encourage input from all.
Future of Our Schools
There are big changes coming to our schools including new construction. If bond money is approved, I will work to ensure the facilities are appropriate for at least the life of the bond.
I will work to improve communication from the Board of Education to ensure that the community is fully aware of current and future plans.
I will work to ensure the district is, at all times, working within the belief statements, mission, and vision stated in the strategic plan.
